Elevator Hematoma

So, I went to the BMT Clinic this morning, and had to get platelets.  This is something that I'm kinda getting used to.  It is what it is.🤷  I do end up feeling better later on and I don't have any side effects that I notice.

We called for the elevator and waited for the bell to ding alerting us to its arrival.  When the doors opened up we walked toward it, but it started to close before we were able to get inside.  I put my hand out to stop the doors from closing.  Usually the sensors will open an elevator back up.  My husband warned me to get my hand out, but I was too slow.  My fingers just missed the inside doors from closing on them, but the outside doors caught my hand.  It hurt and bruised my hand quickly, but I didn't think anything else of it at the moment.

But, as we were driving home, the pain in my hand started to throb, and the bruise turned into a hematoma the size of a ping pong ball.

We called the BMT clinic to find out what to do and they told us to turn around and come back so they could look at it and make sure there wasn't anything too serious going on.
A couple nurses and a PA looked at it, put some gauze on it and wrapped it loosely with an ace bandage, then sent me home again.
When I got home we unwrapped it, put some Geranium essential oil on it, then re-wrapped it loosely.

*The next day*
The hematoma went down a LOT but the bruise spread to cover most of the top of my hand.

I currently have no neutrophils so my body isn't able to repair itself quickly.  This bruise will take awhile to heal, but at least it looks worse than it feels.
